Meet The Team
Phil has spent his career investing in and building businesses with less than $50 million of revenue. Prior to forming Go Capital, Phil was an investor at Prospect Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm based in Chicago. At Prospect, Phil was one of eight professionals responsible for all aspects of firm management including deal sourcing, transaction execution, portfolio company management, and deal exits. Phil's investment and board level experience spans a range of industries including business services, consumer, and niche manufacturing.
Previously, Phil was an investment banking professional at JPMorgan, where he specialized in M&A and corporate finance transactions for middle market companies. Phil began his career in corporate planning & strategy at Bank One Corporation.
Phil received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame (summa cum laude) and his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He is originally from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
As a sophomore in college Chris helped found a career development startup called Dream Careers. Dream Careers offered college students all-inclusive summer internship programs in major cities around the world, similar to a study abroad experience, that combined internship placement, housing, meals, on-site staff, career development workshops, and more.
Over his 14 years as President he helped lead the business from startup to an industry-defining company with 50+ employees and operations in 10 cities around the world. His experience has been focused in executive leadership/management, sales & marketing and operations.
Chris graduated with a degree in general management and Spanish from Boston College. He is originally from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
Stephan launched his career with one of the nation's top real estate developers, McCaffery Interests in Chicago, where he scoured the country for rising star retailers and local mom and pop shops to create winning tenant rosters in massive mixed-use developments. At McCaffery, Stephan negotiated hundreds of LOIs leading to over $100 million in booked revenue while honing his ability to manage attorneys and mitigate their fees. He earned a reputation in the industry for being a man of his word who seeks quick, creative, fair compromises to expedite deal completion.
In 2008, Stephan helped build a $50 million real estate investment fund where he developed communications and marketing strategies and headed the pre-acquisition market analysis and due diligence efforts.
Stephan earned his degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
